When our Founding Fathers considered the form of government for a new nation, they attempted to create a legal system based upon the fixed and unchanging principles of the Bible. Those principles are reflected in the Declaration of Independence and other seminal documents of the United States of America. While this historic fact is recognized by many Christians, a specific knowledge of how our nation's legal system was patterned after Scriptural truths is not understood by many.
Program Overview The Foundations of the American Legal System is a video course designed to challenge individuals to approach law from a Biblical perspective. The course is versatile in that it can be adapted to a variety of learning levels. It is appropriate for the student who is approaching the study of law for the first time. It is also beneficial to the legal professional who desires a fuller understanding of the Biblical basis of law. Students who purchase the course will receive six video lectures along with course related supplements in a three-ring binder. The supplemental materials include cases, founding documents, and reprints of articles, as well as review questions and an optional exam. In addition, ideas for further reading and research are included at the end of each lesson. These research projects are especially beneficial to a law student or legal professional. Though not a prerequisite for admission into Oak Brook College's J.D. program, this course is excellent preparation for students who plan to enroll in the future. Tuition Fees Standard Tuition: $100 Admissions For more information about enrolling in this course, please contact our Administrative Office at (559) 650-7755. |
