Baker, Joshua K. - Class of 1999
A member of Oak Brook College's charter class, Joshua served as a legal assistant to the general counsel of the Institute in Basic Life Principles throughout his law school years. As a 3L and 4L, he also worked with various OBCL faculty as a professorial assistant. In his free time, he also did freelance legal research and writing for the Alliance Defense Fund and the Marriage Law Project.
After graduating in 1999, Joshua successfully passed the California Bar Exam and was admitted to the California bar in June 2000. In August of that year, Joshua began work as a staff attorney at the Marriage Law Project in Washington, D.C., where he is currently employed. The Marriage Law Project offers legal research and policy guidance to individuals and organizations seeking to reaffirm marriage as the union of one man and one woman, providing the legal resources that enable attorneys, legislators, religious groups, and public policy organizations to participate as equals in the ongoing debate over same-sex "marriage."
Joshua currently resides in northern Virginia, where he enjoys playing recreational soccer and participating in the choral and handbell ministries of Columbia Baptist Church.
