Announcing New Elective Course
There are several Oak Brook College graduates that are practicing in an area of great need and one that provides numerous opportunities to be a advocate, counselor, and a minister. In addition to helping people with life-changing legal issues, one who is involved in this type of practice can often minister to the true spiritual and emotional needs of individuals who feel disadvantaged and confused. Also, this type of practice often involves international business contacts, provides experience in working with government agencies, and exposes one to the customs and culture of other nations. And, for OBCL graduates a very important aspect is that the services can be provided in states where you cannot be licensed in state court. I am speaking of immigration law.
Immigration Law can easily be a full-time area of practice and it is an area that few attorneys know anything about. Because of the need and the increased opportunities it provides for OBCL students, we have decided to offer Immigration Law as an elective course beginning in January 2010.
Since OBCL has never offered Immigration Law, this course is open to all alumni and current students who are elligible to enroll in electives. It will be a practice-oriented course that will give you information and resources to help people with their immigration questions and problems.
The registration deadline is December 22,2009 and the registration form can be downloaded by clicking here.
