J. Douglas McElvy, Professor
Professor J. Douglas McElvy graduated from the University of Alabama where he received
his bachelor of science degree in 1967 and his juris doctor degree in 1971.
Professor McElvy has served as President of the Christian Legal Society
of Alabama, and as Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alabama.
Since 1991, he has been a commissioner on the State Board of Bar Commissioners
for the Alabama State Bar Association. He also serves as a member of the
Executive Council of the Alabama Bar Association and was appointed a member
of the Committee on Alternative Methods of Dispute Resolution of the Alabama
State Bar Association.
Professor McElvy and his wife, Eleanor, have five children and live in Tuscaloosa,
Alabama, where he is engaged in private practice at the firm of McElvy & Ford.
